About me:

I am a 20 year old student currently finishing up my Sophomore Year as a Mathematics Major at UC Irvine. I will be transferring to SDSU, CSU San Marcos, or Cal Poly Pamona to pursue a degree in Graphic Design.

Such a radical switch in a major is understandably confusing, yet there is a simple explanation:

My biggest dream is work in Graphic Design. Yet I have another dream; to become a Middle School Algebra Teacher. Whether I'll do Graphic Design in the summer while the kids are out for break, or if i'll teach after I've retired from my work in Graphic Design is something only God knows for sure.

It took me only 2 years after I became a Math major to come to the (now obvious) realization that I do not need to learn Multivariable Calculus to teach Middle School Algebra (however fun and challenging it might be).

Knowing that I desperately want to spend these few precious years of my life well (coupled with the fact that the chances of me going back to school solely on a teacher's salary are slim to none!) I have decided to switch from a Mathematics Major to a Graphic Design Major, and simply earn a Mathematics Teaching Credential.

I will miss my friends and professors at UCI, all of whom have made such a profound impact on my life. And, although this choice may cause me to tack on a few more years in College, I know it is for the best.

Plus, my parents are paying the way! Hah!
